Shop durable Hard Maple Lumber for furniture and woodworking. Beautiful sapwood or heartwood available.
Hard maple: the craftsman's choice for timeless beauty. Its straight grain, sometimes with a bit of wave, makes it perfect for plywood veneers, fine cabinetry, flooring, butcher blocks, and turning projects. While most of our customers prefer to use creamy white sapwood, we also provide boards with rich, reddish-brown heartwood accents on the back. Choose from several grades of kiln-dried lumber.

Common Uses
Hard maple lumber is a versatile wood that is as tough as it is beautiful. Strength and resilience make it the perfect choice for projects that demand durability.
- Furniture: With its fine texture and warm tones, hard maple is a classic choice for creating heirloom-quality furniture. It's strong enough to support heavy dining tables and chairs yet can also be crafted into bed frames and dressers with graceful curves. Hard maple accepts stains and finishes beautifully for furniture that looks stunning for years to come.
- Cabinetry: The smooth surface and consistent colour of hard maple make it perfect for crafting cabinets of quality and sophistication. Whether you prefer a natural finish or a painted look, hard maple cabinetry will add to the elegance of any room.
- Flooring: Hard maple is a top contender when you need a floor that can handle the daily wear and tear of busy households or businesses. It resists dents and scratches, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. Whether you choose a traditional plank floor or a parquet pattern, hard maple flooring brings a natural warmth and timeless elegance to any space.
- Cutting Boards & Butcher Blocks: Hard maple's closed grain and tight fibres create a surface that's gentle on knives and resistant to bacteria growth, making it great for kitchen countertops and cutting boards.
- Turning: Woodturners appreciate hard maple for its even texture and smooth finish. It's easy to shape on the lathe, making it a versatile wood for creating bowls, platters, candlesticks, and other decorative objects. Natural beauty shines through whether you choose a clear finish or a rich stain.
