Hard Maple Birds Eye Lumber

Rough Lumber

Birds eye maple is not a species itself but more of a character quality due to defects. While the tree (typically a hard maple) grows and produces buds, poor growing conditions prevent the buds from becoming branches, and they merge back with the tree to form small knots, leaving behind a unique character. Birds’ eye is used mainly as veneer for plywood, but also as an accent wood or in small projects such as pen blanks. This product is only sold in 4/4 thickness, 5-8' lengths and select & better grade due to it's unique nature.
