
Cherry, Sappy
Heartwood is red to reddish-brown, having straight grain with a very fine texture. It is common to see gum pockets or pith flecks, and some creamy white sapwood. Has a much higher percentage of sapwood than the 90/50 cherry.
Machinability: Works easily with most tools and accepts nails and screws well. It stains fairly well, although conditioning is necessary to aid in even stain acceptance. It polishes excellently.
